CAST & CREW - Forming the apropriate cast and crew is esential
to a smooth going production and getting quality performances from
your actors and actress. It is highly recomended that you do not
use your friends and family unless they are experinced in the film
industry. Often having friends and family for cast leeds to slopy
and unctroable work due to lack of experince and lack of control.
There are many other reasources that you can gather instead. Your
best bet is film schools, you can find students that have some skills
and a high intrest in working in the industry. Also you can look
in local film groups for help and additional reasources. Here is
a list of film schools from all over the world. Find the ones nearest
you and go to these faculties and advertise that you need a cast
& crew. Most schools have bulletin boards in their film/media faculty
where you can post adds. Offering your help production credits,
compensation for expensises and always have free food on set. A
well feed worker is a good worker. Here is also a list of film groups
around the country. Many groups have news groups and websites to
commincuate with members. They also hold montly meetings and go
over film shoots, new technology and teach tips and tricks.
to be put elseware CATERING - The problem with a volunteer crew
is that they will not work happily or productively without nurishment.
It will probably be up to you as an independent producer to feed
them. The cheapest way to feed them is to go to a bulk food store
and purchase chips, apples and cookies. Weather conditions also
play on what you have to purchase. If you shoot outdoors in the
winter, you may have to borrow a friend's coffee machine to keep
your cast and crew warm. And during the hot summer, simple, cold
tap water will quench their thirst.
